Ingredients
Sliders
  • 18 Brioche Slider Rolls
  • 3 lbs Ground Beef, I use 80/20
  • 1 Tbs Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Season Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Pepper
  • 4 1/2 slices Colby Jack Cheese, cut in fourths
  • 4 Tbs Butter, melted
  • 2 Tbs Parsley, minced
Caramelized Onions
  • 6 Medium, White Onions, sliced into thin strips
  • 2 Tbs Olive Oil
  • 2 Tbs Butter
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 1 - 2 Tbs Water (optional)
Instructions
  1. To caramelize the onions, heat oil & butter in a wide, thick bottomed pan on medium/high heat. Add onions and stir to thoroughly coat them with the oil & butter.  Spread them out evenly in the pan.  Let them cook for about 10 - 15 minutes, occasionally giving them a quick stir to keep them from sticking or burning.

  2. Sprinkle onions with salt & sugar. Lower the heat to medium and continue cooking for 30 minutes. If the onions start to appear dry, you can add a tablespoon or two of water. Once the onions look browned, remove them from the heat and set aside.

  3. Heat oven to 350°F.

  4. To prepare the Sliders, place the ground beef in a medium mixing bowl. Add Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, season salt, and pepper. Combine together (I use my hands but a spoon works too).

  5. Divide meat mixture into 18 even balls and press into patties. The patties should be slightly bigger than the buns because they'll shrink as they cook. You can cook the patties on a grill or add some oil to a skillet and cook thoroughly. Remove from heat.

  6. Spray the bottom of a large, glass baking dish (mine is 11"x15" and fits 18 rolls). Cut the rolls in half and lay the tops aside. I like to keep them attached to each other as much as possible so the bottoms create one large piece and the tops another. Place the bottoms in the prepared baking dish. Cover the entire dish so they stay together nicely. Place one patty in the center of each roll bottom, top with a cheese slice quarter, and a nice mount of caramelized onions.

  7. Replace the tops, and brush each roll top with melted butter. Sprinkle with minced parsley.

  8. Bake on the middle of the center rack in the oven for 20 mins. Serve warm

Recipe Notes

Be sure to prepare the Caramelized Onions first.  They take about 45 minutes to caramelize.
